About
A cluster of Victorian Gothic civic buildings and Art Deco residential blocks around Horniman Circle Garden in Mumbai's Fort district, including the Town Hall (1833), now home to the Asiatic Society library. The circular garden itself was laid out on the site of the old Bombay Green in the 1860s. Together with the Oval Maidan ensemble, it forms part of Mumbai's UNESCO-recognised Victorian Gothic and Art Deco heritage precinct. The area remains a functioning commercial and civic hub today.
