About
A heritage walking precinct in Bandra combining Portuguese-era Catholic churches, colourful colonial bungalows and narrow lanes that predate Mumbai's development as a British trading port. Bandra was originally a cluster of Portuguese fishing villages before passing to British control in the 17th century, and much of that layered history survives in its architecture. The area is best explored on foot, taking in landmarks like Mount Mary Basilica and St. Andrew's Church. It remains one of Mumbai's most distinctive heritage neighbourhoods.
