About
A working Sufi shrine on a tiny islet off Worli, connected to the mainland by a causeway that vanishes underwater at high tide. Built in the 1400s over the grave of Sufi saint Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari, it blends Indo-Islamic architecture with the marble domes of Mughal shrines. According to legend, the saint's coffin miraculously floated back to this spot after his pilgrimage to Mecca. The shrine draws visitors of all faiths and is only accessible during low tide.
