About
A war memorial in Pune Camp dedicated to soldiers of the Southern Command who died in India's post-independence conflicts, including the wars of 1947-48, 1965, 1971 and the Kargil conflict of 1999. Its centrepiece is an eternal flame and a wall inscribed with the names of the fallen. The memorial hosts a small museum of military artefacts and vintage armoured vehicles on its grounds. It remains an active site of remembrance, particularly around Republic Day and Kargil Vijay Diwas.
