About
A Gothic Revival Anglican cathedral consecrated on Christmas Day 1718, making it the oldest British-era building in Mumbai and the city's first Anglican church. It was built partly with funds from East India Company employees and named after Saint Thomas, following an earlier failed attempt to construct a church on this site. Its interior is lined with marble memorial tablets to British soldiers, merchants and administrators of colonial Bombay. The cathedral still holds regular services within the historic Fort precinct.
