About
A 17th-century coastal fort ruin near Mahim, built by the Portuguese and later held by the British to guard the creek separating Mahim from Bandra. Little of the original structure survives today, with only fragments of its walls remaining amid dense urban development. It once played a strategic role in controlling access between the seven islands that formed early Bombay. The site is now a modest, largely informal heritage spot rather than a maintained monument.
