About

An imposing 18th-century Islamic structure built by Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula partly as a famine-relief project in 1784, with a vast central hall and a famous labyrinth beneath it.

Did you know? The Bara Imambara's massive central arch is an engineering marvel built without any iron reinforcement, using traditional brick and lime mortar, and stands as one of the largest unsupported vaults in the world.
