About
A double-ikat handloom textile whose yarn is treated with an oil (telia) purification process before dyeing, producing rich, colourfast reds and blacks in traditional geometric patterns over 75 years old.
Did you know? Before dyeing even begins, Puttapaka's yarn undergoes a lengthy oil-treatment process using castor oil and natural ash — a step unique to "Telia" textiles that gives the finished cloth its deep, long-lasting colour.
