A distinctive matte-black pottery incised with silver-coloured designs, fired in a low-oxygen kiln that gives the clay its jet-black finish before decorative patterns are pressed in by hand.
Did you know? The pottery's black colour comes entirely from the firing process itself — smoke is deliberately trapped inside the kiln during firing, starving the clay of oxygen and turning it black without any dye or glaze.
