About
A delicate white-on-white shadow embroidery tradition said to have been introduced to Lucknow's Mughal court by Empress Nur Jahan, using over 30 different traditional stitches to create intricate floral motifs on fine muslin and cotton.
Did you know? Traditional Chikankari embroidery uses more than 30 distinct named stitches — including "murri," "phanda," and "jaali" — and a single elaborate garment can take a skilled artisan several weeks to complete by hand.
