About
A distinctive blackened metal inlay craft using an alloy of zinc and copper, hand-engraved and inlaid with pure silver wire, then oxidized in a special local soil to produce its signature jet-black finish.
Did you know? Bidriware's deep black colour comes from soil taken only from in and around Bidar Fort — the exact mineral composition of this particular soil cannot be replicated anywhere else, which is why the craft has never successfully relocated.
